Return & Exchange Policy


This policy applies to all purchases made through YAJNASENI’s physical boutique, official website, Instagram page, and WhatsApp orders. By placing an order through any of these platforms, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below. 

Returns and exchanges are accepted only for defective or damaged items, subject to the terms outlined below.


  1. Damaged or Defective Items


In the event you receive a product that is physically damaged, defective, or the item does not conform to the confirmed order (wrong item, design, or size sent), you are required to notify us in writing within 48 hours of receiving the item through one of the following channels: - 


  • Email: yajnaseni.sg@gmail.com; and/or

  • WhatsApp: (+65) 8062 0484; and/or 

  • Instagram Direct Message at yajnaseni.sg.

 

The notification must include: 


  • A written description of the issue, 

  • Clear photographs showing: 

    • The entire product,

    • The specific defect or damage

    • The outer packaging with the shipping label visible 

  • Your order number (for online orders) or Instagram handle (for social media purchases).


Upon verification, we may offer one of the following remedies, subject to availability and our sole discretion:


  • Simple fixing of the damage/defect; 

  • Replacement of the item;

  • An exchange for another product; and

  • Refund or partial refund to the original payment method.


Please note: We have made every effort to display the colours and images of our products accurately as they appear in the store. We cannot guarantee that your screen display of any colour will be accurate. Actual colours may vary. This variation is due to differences in screen displays and individual perception. While we strive to present accurate, life-like images under various lighting conditions, slight colour variations may occur. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the colour you see accurately portrays the true colour of the product.

For products which length information has been provided, please allow slight differences due to handmade products and manual measurement.
Most of our collections are handmade items. Slight irregularities are in nature as a part of its labour processes and are not considered a defect.

  1. Return Eligibility


Our return policy is valid for seven (7) calendar days (‘the period’) from the date your parcel is marked as delivered by the carrier. After this period has elapsed, no returns or exchanges will be accepted. 


To be eligible for a return, your item must meet the following conditions: - 


  • It must be unused, unwashed, and free of any stains, odour, or signs of wear;

  • The ordered item(s) must be returned in their original packaging;

  • A valid proof of purchase (Order Number / Order Summary) must be provided; and

  • The item must not fall under Section 3.


We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not comply with the above conditions. 



  1. Exchanges (if applicable)


Exchanges are permitted only under limited circumstances. We allow one-time exchanges for eligible items, subject to availability. Exchange requests must be made within the period and are subject to the conditions set forth in Section 1.


Exchanges are permitted only if: 


  • You received an incorrect item that does not match your order; and 

  • The item received is defective or damaged (subject to review as outlined in Section 4). 


Exchanges are not permitted in the following cases: 


  • Request for a different size, colour, or design; 

  • Change of mind or personal preference; and

  • Any item not meeting the eligibility conditions for returns. 

(Kindly note that while courier mishandling may occur, we only replace items that are defective or damaged beyond simple fixing that can be done at the recipient's end.)


Approved exchanges will be processed upon receipt and successful inspection of the returned item. If the replacement item is unavailable, a refund may be issued at our discretion. 


We reserve the right to refuse exchanges that fail to comply with the conditions of this policy. 



  1. Non-Returnable and Non-Exchangeable Items


The following items are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable: 


  • Items purchased during sales, promotions, or discount events

  • Customised, altered, or pre-ordered items

  • Used, damaged, or compromised items. i.e, showing signs of wear, damage, or use

  • Jewellery, unless proven defective upon delivery


  1. Return Procedure (if applicable)

If your return or exchange is approved: 

  • You will receive written instructions from our support team.

  • The item must be shipped back to the provided address using a trackable shipping method; and

  • You must share the tracking details within the stipulated timeframe. 

(Please note: Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary. Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted or processed. We are not responsible for any loss or damage incurred during the return shipment.)

  • Otherwise, you can opt to bring the item down to the store in person after informing us.


Return shipping costs shall be borne by the customer, unless expressly waived by YAJNASENI.

  1. Refunds (if applicable)

Refunds requests will be considered valid only within seven (7) calendar days (‘the period’) from the date your parcel is marked as delivered by the carrier. After this period has elapsed, we will not offer a refund. Refunds are strictly limited to cases where: 


  • Items are proven to be defective or damaged upon receipt; and /or

  • A replacement or exchange is not feasible or available; and 

  • The customer has notified Yajnaseni within the stipulated time frame and method of notification (see Section 1)


If approved, refunds will be processed within seven (7) to ten (10) business days after we receive and inspect the returned item. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.

Please note that refunds will not be processed for these specific payment methods and reasons:

  • The original payment was done through Atome; and/or

  • The original card/account used has been closed or deactivated.

In such cases, a mutually agreed refund amount may be issued via bank transfer or another reasonable alternative method.

(Please note: shipping charges are non-refundable. Refunds apply only to the product value unless otherwise specified.)

All refunds are granted solely at the discretion of Yajnaseni. We reserve the right to refuse refunds that do not comply with the conditions of the policy.

  1. Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

If you have not yet received your refund and more than 14 days have passed since it was issued, please follow the steps below:

  • Review your bank account to confirm whether the refund has been posted.

  • Contact your credit card provider to verify if the refund is pending or has been processed, as posting times may vary.

  • Consult your bank, as there may be additional processing time before the refund appears in your account.

  1. Pure Kanchipuram Handloom Silk Sarees and Tassel Tying (if applicable)

For Kanchipuram Sarees & Tassel Tying, customers may opt for pre-tied tassels (kuchu) as part of their purchase or value-added service.

Please note: Once tassels are tied, they cannot be untied or undone without risking damage to the saree. Therefore, sarees with tied tassels will be considered altered and cannot be returned or exchanged, unless the item is proven to be defective/damaged according to Section 4 of this policy.

  1. Dispute Resolution 

In the event of a dispute regarding the condition of returned goods, YAJNASENI reserves the right to make the final decision based on the evidence provided and internal inspection procedures.

  1. General Disclaimer & Discretionary Clause 

YAJNASENI reserves the right to review and make decisions on a case-by-case basis for any situations not expressly covered in this policy. We also reserve the right to approve or deny any return, exchange, or refund request at our sole discretion, even if it otherwise meets the stated eligibility criteria. 

This Policy may be updated from time to time without prior notice. The version in force at the time of your purchase will apply to your transaction.
